First Education Federal Credit Union is building a new, full-service branch at 1509 South Greeley Highway, located near the intersection of College Drive and South Greeley Highway.

“While some parts of the city have many financial institutions nearby, south Cheyenne has fewer options. This project allows us to bring convenient, member-focused financial services to an area that has been underserved.”
Jim Yates, First Education president
The construction project will primarily utilize local contractors when available, and is expected to create four new, permanent positions once the branch opens.
Once completed, the new location will provide full-service credit union offerings, including an ATM, teller services, loans, new accounts, and additional member services.
Construction is scheduled to begin this month, with the branch expected to open in early 2027—the same year First Education will celebrate its 80th year of service to Laramie County.
“This new branch represents First Education’s commitment to serving the entire Cheyenne community,” said Yates. “Opening a branch on the south side has been a long-term goal of ours, and the recent purchase of the property allowed that long-standing vision to move forward on an accelerated timeline.”
