Board of Director Election
As a member of First Education Federal Credit Union, you have a say in how the Credit Union is run. This control comes through your right to vote for the Board of Directors. The Board then appoints other committee members and sets policy for the Credit Union. First Education uses a Nominating Committee/Mail Ballot System to elect its directors. A Nominating Committee, appointed by the Board Chair, reviewed candidates for the three Board vacancies and nominated Bruce Curl, Mary Quast, and Kathe Dahill to fill these vacancies.
Candidates
Bruce Curl
Bruce was first elected to the Board in 1997. He has served as Board Chair for several years, lead the Nominating Committee, and helped revise the credit union’s personnel policies. Bruce is retired from Laramie County Community College and now offers human resources consulting services to colleges around the county. He lives in Cheyenne with his wife Martie.
Mary Quast
Mary has been a member of First Education Federal Credit Union since high school and was elected to the Board of Directors in 2020 and has served as Board Secretary since that time. She was born in Cheyenne and is one of two siblings. She graduated from East High School and received a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Wyoming.
Quast has served as the Community Relations Director at Laramie County School District 1 since 2003 and is a graduate of Leadership Cheyenne and serves on the Board of the Cheyenne Schools Foundation. She and her husband Mike have a blended family of five children and one grandchild.
Kathe Dahill
Kathe Dahill was recently appointed to fill a vacancy on the Board. She is a speech/language pathologist in Laramie County School District 1 and has a B.S in speech and hearing science from the University of Wyoming and an M.A. from the University of Northern Colorado. Helping her students communicate with confidence and clarity is her passion. Outside of work, she and her family enjoy traveling the globe, biking, hiking, running and skiing. Exploring the outdoors brings a sense of curiosity and adventure to her life.
Having grown up with a mother who served the credit union system as a league president as well as CEO of various credit unions around the country, Kathe brings experience and familiarity with the credit union world. She is excited to expand her skills and make a positive impact in both communication and the credit union community.
